She is a 16 year old little girl that loves to live her life to the fullest of her abilities. She loves to listen to country music, play with marbles and cards and eat chips & M&M's. :) She is a VERY loving little girl that loves to be around people. She has been through ALOT in her 16 years, but yet she is a happy out going little miracle!

Come out and BOWL FOR THE KIDS at Varsity Lanes in BG! It will be a fun filled night for everyone and a GREAT way to support those awesome kids! Dance Marathon is right around the corner so come out and help us support in one of the last events before DM!!!! Run at DM!

Do you like to run? Why not do it for a good cause!!! OPEN TO EVERYONE and the community! Run around the indoor track at the Rec during the Dance Marathon Event! There are 64 shifts of 30 minutes slots to be filled.  It is $15 registration. If interested please email nwashin@bgsu.edu to sign up.

Meet Bryton Philip Charles

Bryton Philip Charles

Bryton was born December 26, 2008, six weeks premature at St. Vincent’s Mercy Children’s Hospital in Toledo Ohio. Bryton had feeding problems from the first bottle; he vomited up every formula they tried. He ended up staying in the NICU for eight days before we could take him home.  On our first visit Bryton made it clear his vomiting was not your usual baby spit up. He had stopped gaining weight and was very fussy and had difficulty with bowel movements. It was discovered that he was most likely suffering from Celiac’s Disease and Failure to Thrive. He was placed on a Gluten free diet and he did some better right away but still had a lot of trouble with the formulas; he was placed on a milk protein free formula in October and has done much better. Bryton had begun to gain weight and be less fussy; however his diagnosis is still not definite and he has recently lost some weight and lost interest in eating. I believe we are still looking for a definite diagnosis for him. Bryton is smaller than most babies his age but he is happy and typically developing in every other way.

Welcome to the BGSU Dance Marathon blog! Over the next week leading up to the event, we will be highlighting the Miracle Children and other important information. Miracle Children are the several kids chosen from Mercy Children's Hospital in Toledo to be representatives of all of the children that benefit from all the funding generated by Dance Marathon. FOR THE KIDS!!!
